Question | Answer |
I received my devices, and they are not transmitting. | Devices may ship with a default configuration setting of reporting once every 24 hours. When a configuration setting is changed, the device accepts the change at its next timed interval report (for example, if it's set to report every 24 hours and you change it to every 12 hours, the device applies the change at the next 24-hour report). Battery life depends on configuration frequency—typical battery life for the BeBatt is 3,000 to 4,000 records under optimal conditions. |
My device is showing a location on the map that is not accurate. | For the most accurate location reporting, the GPS receiver on the BeBatt needs a clear view of the sky. As with any GPS device, signals don't penetrate certain materials well—walls, vehicle roofs, tall buildings, mountains, and other obstructions can block line-of-sight to GPS satellites. If you're not sure whether a device has a valid GPS signal, please contact Support. |
What is the end-of-life voltage level when devices stop working? | Voltage level is affected by temperature. At room temperature, the normal operating range is 3.55V to 3.65V. At lower temperatures (below 0°), voltage will read lower than at room temperature—this is normal behavior for lithium batteries. The BeBatt uses 3.6V lithium-metal single-use batteries; store-bought 1.5V alkaline batteries are not compatible. |
How can I monitor the battery life on my BeBatt? | Set a Low Tracker Battery Alert for the asset equipped with the BeBatt. This alert monitors battery capacity and triggers when the battery level falls below 30% (default setting). |
What happens when a device can't find a cell signal? How often does it retry? | When the device wakes to report, it tries several times to connect to a network. If it can't connect, it saves data (location, sensor data, etc.) in a buffer and goes back to sleep, then tries again at the next scheduled report. The buffer can store up to 23 messages; any reports beyond that limit are lost, creating a gap in data. This process is called "store-and-forward." |
The batteries on my BeBatt have drained. I replaced them, and the device still is not working. | When replacing BeBatt batteries, use only AA 3.6V 2,200 mAh lithium-metal single-use batteries. A full charge measures approximately 3.65V. The only approved battery brand is Fanso ER14505M 3.6v 2,200 mAh. Store-bought 1.5V alkaline batteries will not work.
