About Camera Alerts

Dash cam events are now sent through the same email and text alerts and show up on the same reports you already use for your GPS tracker events.

There are two types of camera alerts: Road Facing (Collision, Stop Sign Violation) and Driver Facing (Distracted Driving, Drowsiness/Fatigue, Cell Phone Use, Seatbelt, Camera Obstructed). Which events a vehicle can send depends on the camera installed on it.

How to Set Up Road Facing Alerts

1. Navigate to the Alerts page from the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen.
2. Open the Alerts panel, then click Create Alert.
   
   The Create Alert pop-up appears.
    
3. Select Alert: Click Road Facing AI from the available alert types, then click Next.
   
   
    
4. Alert Details: Complete the following fields:
   1. Alert Name: Enter a name for the new alert.
   2. Applies To: Select Vehicle or Group, then use the drop-down to select a specific vehicle (filtered by vehicles equipped with cameras) or group, depending on your selection.
      
      
      
      Note: The system will display the number of cameras within a group. If a group is not equipped with at least one camera, you will not be able to select that group for this alert.
       
   3. Event Types: Choose Collision, Stop Sign Violation, or both.
   4. Options: Use the checkbox to disable the alert after it is triggered for a specified time.
5. Click Next.
6. Notify: Turn on Email, Text, or both, and choose who should receive them.
7. Finalize: Review your selections and click Save.

How to Set Up Driver Facing Alerts

1. Navigate to the Alerts page from the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen.
2. Open the Alerts panel, then click Create Alert.
   
   The Create Alert pop-up appears.
    
3. Select Alert: Click Driver Facing AI from the available alert types, then click Next.
   
   
    
4. Alert Details: Complete the following fields:
   
   
    
   1. Alert Name: Enter a name for the new alert.
   2. Applies To: Select Vehicle or Group, then use the drop-down to select a specific vehicle (filtered by vehicles equipped with cameras) or group, depending on your selection.
   3. Event Types: Choose the applicable event(s): Camera Obstructed, Cell Phone Use, Distracted Driving, Drowsiness/Fatigue, Seatbelt. You must select at least one event.
      
      Note: If an event is greyed out, the vehicle/group equipped camera can't detect it  — hover over it to see which camera would support it.
      
      
       
5. Click Next.
6. Notify: Turn on Email, Text, or both, and choose who should receive them.
7. Finalize: Review your selections and click Save.

Camera Events in Reports

Camera events automatically show up in three reports you already use, alongside your tracker events — no extra setup needed.

Note: Stop Sign Violation, Pedestrian Collision Warning, Seatbelt, Camera Obstructed, and Collision are not included in the reports below by default. If your camera supports these event types, you may include them in supported reports by using the checkboxes in the Edit Table Columns pop-up (accessed from the Ellipsis icon > Edit Table Columns). 

• Event Detail Report — Use the filter to view all events, or filter to see camera events only.
• Vehicle Behavior Report — Six columns show by default: Tailgating/Close Following, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure, Distracted Driving, Drowsiness/Fatigue, Cell Phone Use. 
• Driver Behavior Report — Same default columns as the Vehicle Behavior Report.
