Camera Alerts FAQ
Camera Alerts notify you about important dash cam events the same way you're already notified about everything else — through email and SMS, and right inside the reports you use every day. Here's everything you need to know to get started.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What are Camera Alerts? | Camera Alerts let you get notified about dash cam events using the same email and SMS alerts — and the same reports — you already rely on for tracker events. You'll set them up from the same alert wizard you know, using two sections: Road Facing AI and Driver Facing AI. |
| Do I need a camera subscription? | Yes, Camera Alerts are available to accounts with an active ClearPathGPS camera subscription. |
| Which events can send me an email or SMS? | Road Facing AI: Collision, Stop Sign Violation. Driver Facing AI: Distracted Driving, Drowsiness/Fatigue, Cell Phone Use, Seatbelt, Camera Obstructed. |
| Why is an event greyed out in the alert wizard? | This means the camera on that vehicle doesn't support that particular event. Driver-behavior events like Distracted Driving, Drowsiness/Fatigue, Cell Phone Use, and Seatbelt require a driver-facing (DMS) camera, such as the AIR II. |
| Where do camera events show up in reports? | You'll find them in the Event Detail, Vehicle Behavior, and Driver Behavior reports — right alongside your tracker events, using the same columns and filters you already use. |
| Where can I set up a Camera Alert? | Head to Alerts > Create Alert, then choose either Road Facing AI or Driver Facing AI. |
| How can I tell if my camera is set up to send an alert? | Go to Admin > Dashcams, select a camera from the table, then choose Edit Camera Settings. You'll see all of that camera's settings there. |
