What is AlphaRoute?	AlphaRoute is a web-based transportation management system built specifically for K-12 school districts. It provides tools for route planning, daily operations, driver management, and family communication — all connected to your ClearPath GPS data.
Why has ClearPathGPS partnered with AlphaRoute?	This partnership allows us to offer school districts a more complete transportation solution. By combining ClearPath’s reliable telematics with AlphaRoute’s purpose-built platform, your district can manage routing, operations, and parent communication from a single, integrated ecosystem.
Is AlphaRoute designed for school districts?	Yes. AlphaRoute is built exclusively for K-12 school districts and school boards, with tools and workflows designed around the specific needs of student transportation teams.

Getting Started

How do I access AlphaRoute?	Visit schools.alpharoute.app to log in to the AlphaRoute platform. Your AlphaRoute login is separate from your ClearPath account — you will need credentials for each platform.
Where can I find support documentation?	Support documentation is available directly within AlphaRoute. Select AlphaCoach from within the platform to access walkthroughs, how-to guides, and product documentation.
Who do I contact if I need help?	If you have questions that are not answered in AlphaCoach, reach out to our support team. We are here to help you get the most out of your ClearPath and AlphaRoute solution.

Integration & Data

How does AlphaRoute connect to ClearPath?	ClearPath delivers real-time GPS bus location data to AlphaRoute via the ClearPath Open API. This is a one-way data flow — location and telematics data moves from ClearPath into AlphaRoute to power live bus tracking and operational tools.
Can I see my ClearPath telematics and camera data?	Yes. Telematics and camera data remain accessible within the ClearPath platform as usual. AlphaRoute uses the GPS feed from ClearPath to power its routing, operations, and parent-facing features.
Do I need a separate login for AlphaRoute?	Yes. ClearPath and AlphaRoute are accessed separately. There is no single sign-on (SSO) at this time, so you will use individual credentials for each platform.

Platform Modules

What modules are included with AlphaRoute?	AlphaRoute’s core bundle includes five modules: AlphaPlan (routing and scheduling), AlphaCom (communications), AlphaView (dispatch and operations), AlphaCore (administrative tools), and AlphaDriver (driver mobile app). Additional modules are available as optional add-ons.
What optional modules are available?	Three optional add-on modules are available: AlphaPortal (parent app), AlphaSchool (school staff portal), and AlphaTrip (field trips management). Ask your account representative for details on adding these to your solution.
What is AlphaPlan?	AlphaPlan is AlphaRoute’s routing and scheduling interface. It includes Google Maps integration, automated route building, dynamic traffic data, calendar-based stop management, and a fleet schedule display showing bus utilization across the day.
What is AlphaCom?	AlphaCom is AlphaRoute’s integrated communications module. It allows your team to send real-time, personalized notifications to families, drivers, and school staff. It also supports automated alerts triggered by specific events, such as a late bus or an approved transportation request.
What is AlphaView?	AlphaView is the dispatch and operations dashboard. It provides live GPS asset tracking, stop-level on-time performance monitoring, student ridership data, engine diagnostics, incident triage tools, substitute bus management, and live and historical route playback.
What is AlphaDriver?	AlphaDriver is a mobile app for drivers. It includes customizable pre- and post-trip inspections, RFID-based student ridership tracking, turn-by-turn navigation, and safety alerts if a student boards the wrong bus or is not checked out at the end of a route.

Parent & School Tools

Can parents track the school bus in real time?	Yes, through the AlphaPortal add-on. Parents can view real-time bus location, receive alerts when the bus is approaching their stop, see tap-on and tap-off notifications for their child, and submit transportation requests — all through a web browser or mobile app available on iOS and Android.
Can parents manage multiple children through the app?	Yes. AlphaPortal allows parents to access information for multiple children within the same account without needing to log in separately for each student.
Can school staff access bus rosters and routing information?	Yes, through the AlphaSchool add-on. Staff can view student routing information and digital or PDF bus rosters from a mobile device at curbside, track buses in real time, and submit and monitor transportation requests on behalf of students.
How does AlphaRoute support field trip management?	The AlphaTrip add-on allows school staff to submit field trip requests through a simple interface. Requests are routed through a customizable approval chain (such as principal approval followed by transportation approval) and integrate directly with AlphaPlan for routing and billing oversight.

Billing

How is AlphaRoute billed?	AlphaRoute is billed through ClearPath and appears as a line item on your existing ClearPath invoice. There is no need to manage a separate invoice or vendor relationship for AlphaRoute.
Is there a cost for messaging through AlphaCom?	AlphaCom is included in the AlphaRoute platform at no additional cost. However, per-message rates apply for SMS messaging, priced at under one cent per message. Contact your account representative for current rate details.
