XT21 Hardware Deprecation & Transition Guide
To ensure the highest level of performance, reliability, and long-term support for our customers, we continually evaluate our hardware offerings. As part of this process, the XT21 device is officially entering End-of-Life (EOL) status. We understand transitions can raise questions, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
➡️ What’s Changing?
XT21 → EOL: Discontinued
Effective immediately, all new orders for the XT21 have ceased.
Existing units already deployed in the field will continue functioning as expected and may remain in service.
While there is no immediate disruption to current users, we encourage customers to begin planning for future transitions.
Recommended Replacement
For customers seeking a supported device moving forward, we recommend transitioning to the XT25 with I/O Extender.
XT25 Status: Active and fully supported.
🗓️ Transition Timeline
To provide adequate planning time, the target transition date is Jan/Feb 2026.
This timeline ensures you can schedule hardware refreshes or incremental migrations at a comfortable pace.
⚙️ Key Technical Differences
The XT25 requires:
- OBD-II to Hardwire Harness for Hardwire installation
- I/O Extender for input monitoring and/or Driveri ID (also requires wired fob and reader)

Q: What are some of the key differences/improvements between the XT21 and XT25?
The XT25 includes several key improvements/additions when compared to the XT21, including:
- Internal battery for “last gasp” reporting when external power is lost
- Ability to support engine diagnostic reporting if/when moved between install types
- Ability to expand and support accessory features such as Driver ID and Input Monitoring
