Note: DriverID requires a Pro Edition subscription. Please contact your ClearPathGPS Sales Representative for more information.
DriverID allows drivers to be created in the ClearPathGPS system and assigned to vehicles. Maps (both real time and historic), the Virtual Timecard report, and event detail reports automatically display the assigned driver for every trip.
Additional reports are provided detailing : Expiring driver's licenses, and vehicle assignment by driver.
Assigning drivers to vehicles can be performed in one of two ways. Manual Assignment or Fob Assignment:
- Manual assignment is done using the ClearPathGPS Portal.
- Fob assignment uses an in-cab reader and driver assigned key-fob. The driver touches the fob on the reader prior to each trip, this information is transmitted to ClearPathGPS and the assignment is automatically updated. See article "DriverID: Using a Driver ID Fob" for more information.
Note: If drivers are using an in-cab reader & fob then manual assignment is no longer possible - the vehicle will override manual assignments.
Select Administration -> Driver Admin.
A list of driver ID's will be displayed.
Fob : A list of fobs provided by ClearPathGPS will be displayed. The "Driver ID" number match the id's printed on each fob.
Manual : Enter an id (e.g. johnjones, or an id number, e.g. 145) for the driver you wish to create. Click "New".
Select the driver you wish to edit from the Administration -> Driver Admin page.
Update the information. Note: When provided, "Driver Nickname" is used on Maps instead of the "Driver Name". For example, John Jones, could be assigned a nickname of JohnJ or JJ.
Click "Change" when complete
Manual : Follow the instructions above to edit a driver. Select the vehicle from the "Vehicle ID" drop down. Click "Change" (see above screenshot).
Fob : Assignment is fully automatic once the driver touches the fob to the in-cab reader.
See article "DriverID: Using a Driver ID Fob" for more information.
