Before You Begin

The installation kit contains the XT25 tracking device. Depending on the type of install you’re completing, your kit may also include a diagnostic pass-thru cable, a mounting bracket, and cable ties.

Additional tools you may need include a pen, smartphone, dash panel removers, sock/screwdriver set, and flush cutters.

Installation Steps

1. Installation Preparation

Write down the device’s 15-digit Activation Code and 9-digit serial number (ESN). These will be used later to verify the install and register the device.

2. Device Connections

There are three available methods to connect the device.

Direct Plug-in
OBD-II Extension Cable
Diagnostic Cable
- OBD-II Pass-thru Cable
- With HD Cable Adapter—For use with Heavy Duty Diagnostic Pass-thru Cables (i.e., 9-pin, RP-1226, Volvo/Mack, etc.)

If installing directly into the OBD-II port, please perform the following steps before proceeding to [Step #4 Verify and Secure Installation][link].

Locate the OBD-II port and plug the device directly into the port
Secure the device to the OBD-II port with cable ties.

Note: If the device lights do not begin to flash upon connection or do not go solid within 3-5 minutes, please see [Frequently Asked Questions][link] below.

With the vehicle ignition off and keys removed, complete the following steps:

Remove the dashboard panels for harness installation and device mounting.
Connect the OBD-II Extension Cable to the vehicle diagnostic port and then secure the connection with a cable tie.
Route the other end of the OBD-II Extension Cable to an open area directly under the dashboard where it will not be surrounded by metal once reassembled.
Connect the XT25 tracking device to the OBD-II Extension Cable and then secure the connection with a cable tie.

Remove the dashboard panels for harness installation and device mounting.

With the vehicle ignition off and keys removed, complete the following steps:
Free up the existing diagnostic port from its current location.
Connect the pass-thru cable to the vehicle diagnostic port and then secure the connection with a cable tie.
Mount the pass-thru cable replacement port.
Connect the XT25 tracking device to the pass-thru cable and then secure the connection with a cable tie.

When using the HD cable adapter, connect the XT25 tracking device to one end of the HD cable adapter and secure the connection with a cable tie, and then connect the opposite end to the HD pass-thru cable.

3. Device Mounting

Secure the tracking device high under the dashboard, ensuring it is not covered by metal.

4. Verify and Secure Installation

Test the 15-digit Activation Code to ClearPathGPS at telephone number (805) 695-2388.
After you text your Activation Code to ClearPathGPS, you will receive a few text messages prompting you to reply with information about the vehicle.
1. Respond to the prompts with the following:
  - Vehicle Name: This is the vehicle label that you will see on the Map.
  - VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): This can be found on the vehicle’s registration and on the vehicle itself.
  - License Plate
  - Current Odometer
2. After sending the current odometer, turn on the vehicle’s engine and wait 30 seconds.
3. Turn off the vehicle’s engine and wait 30 seconds.
4. Text “Done” to (805) 695-2388. You should receive a test response stating: “Installation Complete.”
5. Upon completion, reassemble the vehicle’s dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question	Answer
What is the white wire that is unused for the XT25 Install?	The 6-pin connector with the loose lead white wire is an accessory connection for the Driveri camera. If Driveri was purchased, please refer to that guide for installation instructions. If Driveri was purchased, please refer to that guide for installation instructions. If Driveri was not purchased then ignore and cable tie to the OBD-II cable.
Why are lights flashing on the device?	LED 1: Off = Power-on default LED 1: Solid blue = BLE connected only LED 1: Solid red = Ignition on only LED 1: Solid purple = BLE connected and ignition on LED 2: Off = Power-on default LED 2: Off = GSM disabled LED 2: Fast blink yellow = GSM enabled, no registration LED 2: Solid yellow = GSM enabled, registered LED 3: Off = Power-on default LED 3: Off = GPS disabled LED 3: Slow blink green = GPS enabled, no lock LED 3: Solid green = GPS enabled locked *Note:* The XT25 enters sleep mode 10 minutes after ignition off to reduce vehicle battery draw. All LEDs turn off while the device is in sleep mode — this is expected behavior, not a fault.
Why are the device lights not illuminating?	The port is most likely not supplying power and you will need to replace the diagnostic port fuse. Refer to your owner’s manual to inspect the correct fuse and replace if necessary.
Why am I not seeing the vehicle on my map?	Your vehicle will not appear on the map until a trip has started. Start the vehicle and refresh the web page.
